In May 2007, RHUL Basketball was invited by one of their Hall of Fame alumni, Rob Economopoulos, to play in the 60th year anniversary tournament of his then current team, the Blue Stars of Amsterdam.
The club accepted and combined the tournament with its first ever tour, taking both men's and women's teams to Amsterdam for a week of basketball and fun.
Both teams put in solid performances at the tournament, with the women finished 2nd overall, denied 1st place by a game changing error by one official. Alice Couten received the tournament's top scorer honours. The Club thanks Blue Stars for being excellent hosts and Rob for the invitiation to take part.
In addition to the tournament play, both teams played games against other local teams during the week, the men splitting their two games whilst the women's team won their only game in what was an extremely close encounter decided by a late jump shot from freshman guard Dyala Jaroudi.
